india is going to host the worldcup in 2011 anddelhi will be having many matches also. is this the way to prepare a pitch for a international match? why BCCI is not looking into these matters seriously? its so shame for the whole nation to abandon a international match in this way, although bcci have enough amount of money to spend. why dont they play atleast a single domestic match in that ground before playing a international match. how shamefull it would have been if dilshans bone was broken?

This will create a lot of doubtful questions in the mind of ICCI and other cricket playing nations whether India will properly able to host the 2011 matches. The bad pitch of Kotla and previous occurance of light problem in Eden garden stadium of Kolkata have made these doubts about hosting of World Cup 2011 matches.

yeah.now no delhi or kolkata.no matches in andhra cuz who knows the political telugana issue will settle down.may be in orissa but u got moist threat. may be mumbai.oh there is the dangerous MNS who wont allow north indians to play in their ground. lol.i wonder how the world cup will go if they remove india from the equation. 25 matches in the dhaka ground and remaining everything in srilanka

Yes u are coorect ,that all this which has happened at Kotla has brought shame not only for Kotla,DDCA commitee but also BCCI ,India. As we are getting nearer to world cup preparations we must be well prepared in advance and this sort of happening will certainly raise objections on BCCI if it can handle world cup schedule, and what is more disheartening is the fact that no one from upper authority has taken responsbility.

The condition of the pitch this morning was disgraceful to say the least. I'm waiting for BCCI's take on the pitch situation as both the Delhi cricket board and the BCCI have brought shame onto themselves. I guess Kotla will now lose the chance of hosting matches during the world cup as the venue may be blacklisted by the ICC as was the case with Indore some time back. Don't remember exactly what happened but it was a similar situation. Its not the first instance of a poor pitch. It has been witnessed in almost all countries but Indian wickets are usually pathetic. They're either a batting paradise or totally unplayable like today. Disgraceful and disappointing.

Its really shameful to see such type of thing has been done, but i think the blame should not be given to curator as i saw in one news channel he told that he prepared a pitch and just 3 days before the game the higher authorities told him to change the pitch so he put the grass on the pitch and see what has happened to it.BCCI should see to it and rectify the problem as INDIA is going to host the World Cup and two big debacles has happened, one in kolkata the light problem and the other here in delhi the pitch problem. They should take immediate action against the people involved in it so that this type of thing never happens again.
