I understand that air travel is a necessity in some situations, such as you must take flight to tranatlantic destination. But, what about within the states. You have other options of driving, if you are not so in hurry. The news of Nigerian attempt to hijack an airliner again, would it affect your choice on future flight psychologically? I mean if you intend to go on a vacation within the states? and you are not in such hurry.

I don't think so. I mean i could get hit by a bus tomorrow but that doesn't affect my confidence of buses. Anything could happen at any time but that's no invitation to live in fear.

In November 2001 I visited the USA on my way to New Zealand. I hated the nine eleven event. It did shake up the airline industry. This year a man almost got to bomb a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit. I thought that security levels were high but sometimes bad people get through the system. I know that in the last few months of 2008 and this year some airlines went out of business. People are talking about the green house gases. It is not a bright time for flying at the moment. I still fly on planes because I love traveling. A hijacked plane situation doesn't happen all that often. I would still fly if a hijack took place on a plane this week. I will fly to Canada in 2010.
