did the owners before you have animals in the house?if so the smell from other animals will make him do that. i would go to the pet center and buy the shampoo for rugs that eliminate traces of urine , wash all counters and wherever he goes with white vinegar and i would get him fixed.some male cats are more territorial than others and the slightest scent from another animal sets them in motion for a long time.

Hi sapphire moon: It seems strange the attitude of our friend's cat, maybe there is something in the house that disturbs him, well that's an idea considering that he previously was a well educated cat or maybe there's something wrong on his health so the vet should take a look on the cat. Thanks for your answer sapphire moon. Hope you are having a nice day. Happy New Year and Keep Mylotting. Take Care. -Alvaro.

hi starsailover, thanks for the comment.it got me to wondering too that maybe since the move mr.pussycat is stressed the max out!new envoirnment, different smells etc.also since it is a muliple cat household, maybe he is getting finicky about the litter pan too.but like you said i would take him to the vet and have him checked out just to make sure!

Why dont you see if a vet can give you a deterant spray as sometimes it is a hormone thing as we has a problem simular to yours when i lived at another house years ago with my husbands cat.I would also then see about getting the wee checked out incase of an infection as it may be the problem as some cats are prone to a wee infection.I used to help out at the cats home that used to be just down the road from where i lived they had a cat there that always had wee problems and it was the case of a few pills to put it right.

Try a litter tray again for a short time and see if the cat will go in it rather than any where else.I would rather a cat go in a litter tray than every where else.

But if there is a reason why the cat is doing it and it is not down to it being lazy perhaps this would save the rest of your floor. If the cat has only recently started weeing every where then i would get it checked out by a vet.If it is a wee infection why it is doing it then it would still wee every where as it may not be able to control it to get outside or in a tray.

it would use the litter tray if i put one down, but i won't,coz i think that would be giving in to his naughtyness

You're welcome. The electrical gizmo is what did the trick for me. PS I forgot to mention that you might want to try putting down another litter box in a place that is more agreeable to your cat.

It's true cats hate to move, but it sounds like you cat may have picked up a bladder infection, this is a common ailment and any time a cat is under stress their immune system is compromised. Best to have the cat checked out. This can be life threatening.

frequent urination and when not treated bloody urine. Look on the Internet for more information, this can happen in both male and female cats. Often this cn be treated with diet changes.

Hi door mouse: I think that there are some sprees and products availables that can make you educate your cat so he'll learn to stop marking his territory, maybe you should find a place where your pet can wee so it would be easy to gift your cat a reward when he does it in the right place. Thanks for asking me this question even if I'm not a pro in this issue. Hope you are having a nice day. Happy New Year and Keep Mylotting. Take Care. -Alvaro.

I suggest you let her stay outside you're house until she get used to disposing her waste outside. She just have to look for a site outside and make it her toilet bowl everytime she needs to relieve herself.

There is this device that works like a glade plug-in. Its called feelaway. You can get it normally at your local pet store or vet. Its pricey, but it should ease the tenshion somewhat. Also keep up on his litter box, and make sure its clean. Clean it twice a day if you have too, but make sure it's clean. After punishing him, wait a minute or so then take him to the litter box and put him in it. Gentely explain spraaying isn't permitted and you would perfer he not do so on your place, and only in the litter box.
