What makes a chef a good chef?

I have been watching Top Chef for quite some time, and I love every episode that I watch it. I don't want to be a professional chef, but I would like to learn some of the techniques they use when cooking. I love the French cuisine and all its disciplines. I believe that in order to become a good chef, first of all, I believe that every chef must love what they are doing. Secondly, they must have technical skills that would make them efficient in their line of work, like knowing French techniques, proper cutting techniques. And most of, I believe that a chef must be people oriented because they will meeting a lot of people in their lifetime, the bosses, their coworkers and most of all, their customers.
