How to make rusted coins glossy?

I have some old coins but the condition is bad because they are rusted. I tried to clean it with Brasso (metal polish) but the result is not satisfy.
Do you have some tips about to make the rusted coins glossy?

Won't cleaning old coins make it lose its value? Anyway, I found this wiki on how to clean old coins. I hope it helps.
