Where is my motivation?

I hate the winter! All year I can be motivated and get things done and stay on top it but every winter I feel so drained and tired. I keep starting things I can't finish and my house is NOT as it should be. Why does this season make me feel so crappy? Anyone else have this problem? It's really bumming me out!

It sounds to me as though you have SAD (I think it stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder), and like a previous poster has said, it is lack of sunlight that is probably making you depressed. I haven't got much motivation at this time of year either. Sometimes I wish I had a job because you don't really notice how dark it is outside if you are in an office somewhere, keeping busy. I do the housework like I would do the rest of the year..but it's generally at a snail's pace and I can't wait until my next cup of tea when I'm undertaking it. Come the spring - hopefully, you will feel better. If not, I suggest you see a doctor as it could be mild depression you are suffering from.

Well, at least you start things... Doctors call it seasonal affective disorder, or SAD. I call it being solar powered... and if the sun don't shine, neither do I. Today started out sunny, so I was up by 8:30, managed to wash my hair, get dressed in clean clothes, go out and clear the snow off the sidewalks, put out the garbage and recycling, all before 10:00. That's a major accomplishment for me this time of year. Yesterday, a snowy day, I slept till noon and never did get dressed, had an afternoon nap and went to bed at 11:00.
