Is the AK-47 on Modern Warfare 2 a good gun to use?

I am level 63 on Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360. I am currently using the MG64 with a thermal scope and heartbeat sensor. But when I get to level 70 I don't know if I should use the AK-47. While I was looking at the stats for the gun I saw that it wasn't the best gun out there. I kind of think that it is a good gun, but its power and accuracy isn't good. I am wondering if I should use the AK-47 when I am level 70 or should I stick with my MG64 bling?
