coughing and pregnant

help, help....i can't stop coughing but i can't take medicines without prescription coz i'm pregnant..can't see the doctor yet not until tomorrow....any advise...badly needed!

If its already a severe coughing and yet you still cannot go to the doctor, then try to drink plenty of water first in order to minimize the itchiness you feel in your throat. Aside from drinking plain water, try to take some menthol candies or lozenges. it will somehow relieve the itchiness and cough temporarily.

Use vicks choclates in your mouth for sometime. You can get different flavors. Vicks ginger is good. It is not a tablet. So, I don't think there will be a problem. Hope you will get better soon.

try brewing ginger. drink the brew and add honey. this will help relieve your cough. you can also try drinking warm lemon juice.

Hello, and welcome to Mylot. Whenever we have a cough, I squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a cup, add a teaspoon of honey and top up with boiling water. If you have glycerine in the house, add a few drops of that, but it's not crucial. Allow it to cool and then sip slowly. It's as effective as any cough medicine - and much cheaper.
