some people like honey while some don't. But considering so many benefits that honey provide for us, I think we should reconsider trying it more. Honey is a sweet treat. It is man's oldest sweetener and it can be a good substitute for sugar in our drinks and food. But it is also good for many other things and treating many other conditions. Honey is composed of sugars like glucose and fructose and minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, iron and phosphate. It contains vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3 all of which change according to the qualities of the nectar and pollen. Besides the above, copper, iodine, and zinc exist in it in small quantities. Several kinds of hormones are also present in it. If you have allergies, honey can be beneficial and if you eat honey that is local to your area, it may prevent your seasonal allergies. Honey may also be good for your skin. It has the ability to attract water. You can use honey instead of alpha hydroxy masks because of its high content of the acid. It is also safe for sensitive skin. If you have a sore throat, take some honey. Due to its natural anti-inflammatory effect, it will help to heal the wounds more quickly. It also has different phytochemicals chemicals found in plants and different foods that kill viruses, bacteria, and fungus making it a good substitute for wound dressings. Honey may also be effective in the treatment of your ulcers. In Europe, honey has been used internally to help cure ulcers, particularly stomach ulcers. Burns, too, heal better with honey, studies show. The advantage of honey is that it not only prevents infections from occurring, it actually accelerates skin healing. Since the sugar in honey absorbs water it helps to trap some of the moisture so that the bacteria and other microbes can’t grow as easily as in other food.

yup, i love honey. every morning the first thing i do after getting up is to drink a glass of honey water. it just comes to a habit. my friend drink honey water too, her skin looks better than before. but it doesn't work on me. maybe it is because of the honey. she bought the honey from beenkeeper directly. while mine is from supermarket. maybe it's not pure honey. or maybe because my skin is so good it can't be better.

i'm just joking, my skin isn't very good. i want to make it look better, but i'm too lazy. it's troublesome for me to do face mask with honey, yoghourt or milk. sometimes i'm so lazy i don't wash my face in the morning. laziness and sloppiness go hand in hand.

Your composition is really very nice on 'Honey'! The two things, 'Honey' and 'Money' are really valuable all the time in all countries! I am a good lover of honey! In Ayurved, position of honey is peerless! It is the nectar among all sweet tasting items! We must plan in personal levels to cultivate honey and get its healing as well as tasty qualities! Thanks for this nice topic and have a good day!!

Yes, I have heard of the many benefits of honey. I didn't know bees made other foods. I thought they only made honey. I know that the bees also help to pollenate the plants too so they can grow. Bees are really helpful insects. I enjoy eating honey on toasted bread.

I really don't like honey. i hate sweets, i always got tonsillitis whenever i eat sweets. But because of one event I had to try it. When i visit my grandma, she always give a tablespoon full of pure honey to us (grand kids). She believe that it will give our gum more strength. So, i have no choice, I don't want grand mom to be upset. Oh well, it wont be forever anyway...

I absolutely love honey and make it a point to have some at least once a week if not every day. When the pollen is in the air, I have some every day. However, the using honey to help with allergies trick doesn't work as well if you're using regular honey. You want to look for raw honey that's locally produced for that. The processing they put most of the honey at the grocery store through removes most of the pollens which is what you're really trying to get into your system to build a resistance to. Personally, I think raw honey just tastes better anyway. It's got an amazing warm, rich flavor. I was at a honey and bee products store last summer and had the opportunity to sample some honey varieties. It was from different types of bees and such. My favorite of those was the killer bee honey. It was quite nice, a subtle difference in the kind of sweetness.

I like honey. My daughter and I love eating it on biscuits. My parents raise bees for honey, so we always have honey on hand. My parents have always believed in the benefits of honey, infact any time me or my children get sick their advice is always to eat some honey. Honey definitely has some wonderful benefits.

Thanks for all that great info. I love honey and will just have a spoon of it, or I put it in my tea. I also use it if I have a sorethroat. Its a great thing to have in the house. You can even make honey mustard for chicken like my daughter does at least once a week.
