could they be right about 2012?

is it possible that the mayans could have been right about 2012? and if so where are they? i personaly believe that we are putting just a little to much thought into it,i mean look at it this way, if the mayan where so smart that they could predict the end of the world,why could they have not predicted the destruction of there own race, or knew that h.cortez would come to destroy most of them? please if you answer be nice and be right.

Mayans have not predict the end of the world, they just predict the end of an era. The planet will not be destroyed (it's my opinion), but people will evoluate maybe, a new conscience or something else but i think people will not die at 2012.

Lets say that you are right. do you think it would be a noticeable change in consciousness that all humans would notice or just those of us who are looking for it?

I'm not worried at all about 2012. I don't believe people can see into the future like that. I just deal with things logically and the chance that the mayans happened to guess the right year that the world will end is very low. You notice they predicted the end of world on a year in which they are just pieces of paper in a history book. I just think people like to keep things interesting and what better way than to imagine the world ending. It is an exciting thought!
