American Idol... Losing Hope?

A ton of changes have been made to American Idol recently and they have had so many seasons so I'm beginning to wonder if this show is actually starting to lose its spark and that is why all these drastic measures are coming into play. Goodbye Paula? Judge's Save? Ellen??? What other changes are they going to make? Is any of this doing them any good? And I guess what changes do you want to see made to this TV show. Or would you rather it just end its running or mass amount of running and stop bringing out people that nowadays aren't even doing that well.

It's interesting because here in the UK we get American Idol but I am not sure whether it coincides with when it is shown in America or whether we get a few months later. I actually think all these talent shows are starting to get a bit tired and maybe they should just finish before people grow completely sick of them, as no amount of tinkering with the judging panels can make up for a lack of talent in the contestants. Strnagely I read the other day that Simon Cowell is actually taking X Factor to America, planning to compete with American Idol. How much truth is behind that I am not sure, but that would make for an interesting battle.
