One of my friend told me that we all wear masks, different kind of masks in order to be accepted by the society, that we wear masks because we don't want to tell the truth about ourselves or about others. What do you think? Do you really believe that each and everyone wear different kinds of masks?

Yes, i agree with that. Everyone wears a mask. Especially in times that we are down, got to many problems, or just to deceive people to what you really feels or what you really thinks. Pretending just to make people believe that you are what they see. An example is the mask of smiling face. A smile can fake anyone, you can smile even if its fake without letting people around you knowing it is a fake smile. People wear mask just to make people not to worry about you. Just to become a good example of a strong personality.

Yeah, we wear mask sometimes to deceive other people or just to make other them feel fine. Sometimes we wear mask to pretend that like the person and we appreciate what the person did to us. Yeah, those people who knows how to control their emotions were strong people and they often wear masks. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

I think we have the tendency to wear masks among strangers or new acquaintances because we are still "feeling our way" with them. Most of the time, we do not want to offend so we try to be polite and hide our true feelings from them. These masks can vary, depending on where we are and what "kind" of people we are with (kids, teachers, hobbyists, etc). However, I hope the mask would last only for a while. It is not good to pretend for a long time, right?

Yeah, I absolutely agree with what you said, we often wear masks to strangers and to people whom we didn't know well as we we didn't want to hurt their feelings or offend. It's like a sign of respect to them. Especially when you are traveling to places where the cultures and beliefs completely different from you. Even if you find their culture wrong or absurd, you can't express that to them or else you can't go back to your place. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

The mask you wear could be real tough as you need to hide your feelings to the people. I've a friend who's also an entertainer and it could be real hard for her to make others laugh while she's in pain. It's like the song from Bee gees "I started a Joke." Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Hi, careguarden. Yes, we all wear masks for different reasons. We may not want to admit it, but we all do to a certain extent. We don't always show our true feelings to one another all of the time. Therefore that makes us wear a mask.

Hey careguarden! No, I don't think that we all wear masks! I know that I don't! I am open and honest about who I am and I don't care who knows it! I have always been that way and it has sometimes gotten me in trouble!lol I am the type of person who has the "what you see is what you get" type of attitude! Good or bad, that's me! I also don't like people who pretend to be something that they aren't. I don't like people who wear "masks" because sooner or later the mask is going to come off and then what do you think is going to happen? You can't pretend forever! It's the same as lying! The more you lie the more likely you will screw up sooner or later!

Well in that case, it's good for you, as you don't have any problem trying to please other people, as for me I do wear a mask, those times when I want to make others happy, when I don't want to others to know what I feel simply because I don't want them to get worried about me. And also those moments when I tell white lies because I want others to be happy. Well, yeah when you pretend to be someone, the truth will always comes out and you'll be in big trouble.Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

mask - in true life, people wear masks
Yes, I believe that we all wear masks in different situations of our life. We wear masks at the work place. I don't want to bring my problems at home to the office and feel sad and lonely there. I put on a mask of a happy one because I don't want them to be affected by my problems. Sometimes, I wear a mask at home, too. I don't want to show to the children that I sometimes have problem on how to pay their tuition fees. I put on a happy face and not a worried one. I don't want them to be affected by it.

Partially I agree with your friend. But the term for me is compromises. It is too important for everyone to learn doing it because we are all unique by nature, different wants and needs. And not all the time we like what our friends or other people opinions or we simply don't want them to dismay so we just hide our wants, control our self, keep our real thing inside and compromise just not to broke the relationship.
