To set up a network your first step is to talk to one person and they can introduce you to a friend of theirs and that friend of theirs can become your friend or talk about you to their friends and so on. That idea of networking has been around since humans could communicate with each other. The networks like wan and lan. wan being the internet connection. lan being a local connection. That just came along with the internet and computers being created because who wants a computer that all you can do is use it to read files on it.
