How many times your discussions were deleted in MyLot? What was usually the problem? Did you get a lesson on that? Did it help you be more careful about what you are typing? Did you find the way after a while or still sometimes it repeats? It's good to know the others experiences. Ready to hear...

I think so far, I've only have had 1 discussion removed because of a milestone discussion, 2 years before, if I'm right. I remember getting a bit worked up because at that time I didn't know about mylot detailed policy. Now that I know, I sure wouldn't make discussion such as that, LOL..

It's alright, sagnik and getspaidz ..I make many mistakes too when I first started out in mylot. And I kept on asking questions either through discussions or through private message. So that's why I feel very friendly towards new users of mylot, because I as once like that too. Thank you, guys..

The deleted discussions teach us so much. I am so careful now a days. When I start a new discussion as well as where and how I respond. I have be extra careful, because sometimes I just forget about the guidelines. It is pathetic. After a whole of year of mylotting I still cannot remember the guidelines.

As you say, it’s better not to get around this field. You are a really good member: Two years without a violation. Happy MyLotting!

Once... or maybe twice? The one time I can fully recall was for something really goofy. I'm glad it got removed. And it's made me aware of the fact I shouldn't just throw any old idea I get out there. Make quality questions that people may want to answer. lol Although, I think most discussions that get removed have an issue other than the quality.

Yes, aside from the issue on quality, there are some reasons why a discussion gets deleted such as different kinds of discussion violations. Discussions without substance or those that lacks quality, game/poll/quiz/recipe/joke type, celebrating milestones such as birthdays or reaching a certain number of posts and more, duplicate topics, and abusive discussions are subject to deletion. To avoid throwing an old idea, as you have said, is to use the search box above to check if the topic you want to post already exists, try to make some changes on your discussion by viewing the topic to a different angle when you got some results on the search box.

It is good to remember all, not to repeat it again. Better to think first before starting a discussion. is like a word you want to say in real life. If it comes out of your mouth, no way to take it back.

At the beginning when I was here I had many discussions removed and the only way to understand the reason was to go through the Guidelines with a fine tooth comb. They were all removed because they were in some way a violation. Since I read thme and understood them that has not happened, except for two occasions when I knew that what I had posted would not pass the test and sure enough was deleted too. We all make mistakes but if we learn from them then they serve a purpose. We help ourselves and we can also help others once we are aware of what we are doing wrong.

Hello there! I experienced that once but it was deleted not because of its content. I posted a discussion telling that if they are annoyed on the users who post lots of one-line discussions, try to teach them. It was a nice discussion but it was accidentally posted twice. I only expect the duplicate to be deleted but it was both. I used the search box before I post it and no similar topics found. Anyway, there is nothing to blame with that because it was due to problems in connection. Have a nice day!

Perfect, So actually you have no deleted one, I mean no violation of guidelines. It will be good to suggest MyLot to add a feature for these occasions. For example, if a member is posting two discussions with exactly the same subject in less than say 2 min, one of them be removed automatically with a warning to inform him/her.

when i started here i haven't read the guidelines, which most people do, so i had few slice off discussion and hurts my reputation, but i learned now, so i always check on the search bar if my topic is identical with other topic on the community wall..

Just like me. I had the same problem. I never knew about the guidelines. Mylot has taught me the value of reading guidelines and Faqs. And now whenever I visit a new site and want to join it, the first thing I do is read the faqs. Only after that I join the site.

It’s a shame that I already read it, however not carefully, and did against. I hope it will not happen again though. Since I have no reputation yet, does it affect my future reputation?

Yes couple of times my discussions about achieving something in Mylot have been removed.I learned a lesson not to be happy about those achievements and share the happiness with my friends here. And I felt strange too that some discussions of the same kind from some other members find their place here not deleted.Yes it is a strange feeling.

Hi getpaidsz, Two of my discussions got deleted so far. One was on the restored feature, yes mylot was not updating its home page and profile pages and every one’s profile was showing like not activities and when it restored I started a discussion which got deleted the next day. Then I was very careful for starting topics and recently another discussion also got deleted and reason is still unknown for me. The topic was, criteria for deleting a friend in mylot, I got thirty two responses then the third day it got deleted. I was very sad after working many hours on the same and I felt bad on the responders too, every one lost their post. I am not violating any guidelines but I don’t know what happened? Let me take more care in future.

It could be very useful if members be informed (e.g. by mail) about the reason of discussion deletion. Otherwise, members may keep away from discussing about MyLot even on useful subjects.

I don't remember, I think a lot because I don't know if the topic has been talked before or not. I search in discussions but didn't found the same topic. Read the guidelines like other said.

Yes, there are several discussions about the search feature. Sometimes it doesn't work well. Better to search not only in the tags, but also in full text.

to be honest I have absolutely no idea how many I have deleted, prob a few in my earlier day's. As most newbies experience discussions deleted. To be honest I just say what I think if it gets deleted I don't worry about it, though referral links really cheese me off ha ha ha mylot can and will delete anything they don't like and we as members just need to follow the guidelines and not to post referral links and mylot will continue to be a great site

Yes Benny. Its Ok not to get worry. However, at the first time I felt as a killer who murdered someone (Hahahaaa...). Better to always have a look on the guidelines.

There have been quite a few discussions that have been deleted, around 5. I remember the first one only. The rest I have forgotten. My first discussion that was deleted was like a game. So, it was against mylot rules and got deleted. There were a few others which were all against the mylot guidelines. I got to know about them a little late. I had barely any experience with earning sites like these and was a complete noob. Now I have improved a little, at least I hope so.

Yeah, and the way I am going, very soon, I would have done all the 'DON'TS' they say in the guidelines. I had a discussion deleted today itself. It was a discussion which had already been posted yesterday. So, it got deleted because it was a repeat discussion.

Thank you for the comment sagnik42. Good to hear that you know what was the reason. So it helps not to repeat that violation again and again.

yeah, my discussions were too deleted here in Mylot. But that happened just twice.Since then, none of my post/discussion are deleted. I think i've taken a lesson from these actions. Now i usually respond to discussions rather than starting my own discussion. I only start any new discussion only when i need to know about anything in urgent.

Good idea. However, you should respect the guidelines even when responding. Happy MyLotting!

Well, I don't remember exactly how many times my discussions were deleted, but even one would be enough to alert me. Honestly though I can't say that getting a discussion deleted actually helped me, because it never says why the discussion has been deleted. It never tells you which guideline was violated, so sometimes you can't tell why someone's discussion was deleted. I try to be more careful anyway, and then I re-read the discussion guidelines so I can better know what not to write in a discussion.

17 Jan 10
Yes, I agree with you. However, you can get the point by the responses to some extent. The more experienced members usually warn before your discussion is deleted (and maybe also warn admin using that beautiful small exclamation mark;) ). As you say we read whole the guidelines one more time after each time it happens.

Exactly like me. The first is always about the money. After that I found that better not to touch the field of money details. Thanks for commenting.
