How important to you is to have lunch with your family? Is a good place where you can talk with husband, wife, kids, or parents? This is important to keep the family together, to discuss? I remember about my parents and grand parents, they insist to eat at least a meal in one day, just to keep all around, to talk about how was to school, what they must to do, how all things work. How much parents must learn kids that is a respect sign . You can eat alone, if your family don t come to lunch time?

Hey icesmile! I spend most of my meals eating alone! My boyfriend comes home very late in the evening and so I eat my dinner alone! I very rarely even eat lunch and never eat breakfast so dinner is my only meal! I only eat lunch if I am out doing errands or shopping and am with a friend! If I am home all day I very rarely bother eating lunch because I am just not hungry! So dinner is my meal that I look forward to and I have no problem eating it alone! I will cook for myself if I am in the mood or I will eat leftovers from my weekend cooking if there is anything leftover! Sometimes my boyfriend will bring home food from his job at a college cafeteria and if I like the food I will eat it during the week, if not I will find something else to cook or eat something simple like a sandwich or eggs or a salad!

Yes, I could icesmile. If I am really hungry and I don't have time to wait then I will start lunch without them. There is no need for me to just sit there and starve myself. I mines as well, get me something to eat. I love sharing breakfast, lunch and dinner with my family. It is fun when we all can sit down and eat as a family every once in a while.

Cream97, is great, when a family can stay toghether, never know what will be tomorrow; times ago, we was 7 around table when we had dinner, and now, parents are die, we are in all world corners...

Hi ice; It is beneficial for family to get together at least once a day, at meal time, as a group. It is a great time to discuss the day amongst themselves and is also a great way to practice respect. There have been times I have made lunch and not knowing what time one would be in to eat, I just kept the meal warmed and fresh. Eventually we ate together. Lunch together isn't as important to me as dinner time together. Not sure why that is. Perhaps the way I was taught at home. We always ate dinners together as a family.

I agree. Although it is a bit frustrating when people move away and or have their own families, therefore family is split up and can not gather as we used to.

I remember about my childhood, when all, kids, parents and grandparents all, stay around the table, and like to talk about everything, is like a union for a family, this make life more easier in this time. but unfortunatly, in this days people forgot that a family must to be toghether at once one time in a day; this is great.

Hi there Ice Smile. Well nowadays i don't have dinner with my parents so often simply because we have different work times, but when we do, i usually get there in time, and if my father is late, we either wait or eat (me and my mum) depending on what the food is and if it gets cold. Regarding my girlfriend we usually eat together, but on rare occasions one may eat more early then the other if the movie on the laptop isn't working for instance (i use many original dvd-s and some don't like the player, or want a reboot, so the food has a change to get cold in the meantime).

Hello Icesmile, I do have one meal alone a day. I dont really mind as Im eating while Im working. BUt when my husband comes home, yes we eat together and I'll wait for him if he's late. It was the same at my house when I grew up, we had to have at least one meal together. It was great to all sit around the table and talk about our day. Of course, as kids, we'd fight with each other (not big fights). When we all get together again, we're still sort of nagging each other as we did as kids lol. Its fun.

I usually eat alone at lunch because my husband is in the office while the kids are all in school. I don't cook for lunch, what I eat is the left-over food from last night's dinner. However, I make it a point to cook for dinner because it has been a family tradition to be together during dinner time, if ever there would be an unevitable circumstances that a member can be at dinnertime, the mother must know. It is the time of the day wherein the family members talks about what had happen at work or at school.

My husband and I like to eat our evening meal together, because we always get home at the same time, whereas during the lunchtime hour (noon, to early afternoon) we are usually out somewhere. Different people have different schedules, so people need to do whatever works for them.

Hi Icesmile, That is very nice what your parents did for you. As we all need to work during the day time, so most of the time, we will have a dinner gathering together and talk about things that are interesting happened during the day. But we will have to have lunch by our own.

I don't live with my parents anymore and I don't have a husband and kids, so I am used to eating alone. It was the hardest things when I moved out of my parent's house. Getting used to eating alone is really hard thing to do. But now, when I go home, my family always eats together and I can appreciate it better than before. This is one of these nasty little habits, which you didn't know you had until you start missing them

I'm a child and I usually eat alone my lunch due to different conflicts in our schedule. My mother's (single parent) gotta be at office, same with my brother and I am left to eat my lunch before school. But we try our best to eat together during weekends and dinners. :) it feels better to eat together with your family.

I try the most to bring the family together at the dining. This is a healthy way to strengthen the relationship among the family members. A lot of positive energy flows in and leaves the whole atmosphere a joyful arena.
