Cooks: What kind of olive oil do you use?

I need someone to set me straight. First of all, I love to cook, and I love to use olive oil. I like it so much that I even put it on my salads instead of dressing. At any rate, I keep hearing different things, like that you shouldn't get extra virgin olive oil too hot, or that certain colors are better than others, etc. I then I even heard that the place where the oil comes from makes a difference, like that Sicilian olive oil is the best ( http://www.sicilianoliveoil.net/ ) How much of this is true? Is it all the same? Or is a five dollar bottle of olive oil really much worse than a 30 dollar bottle even when you get the same amount? I'm kind of tight on money and I try to be frugal, anyway, so if I don't have to spend too much money that would make me happy. Please let me know what the truth is. Thanks!
