DMT the spirit molecule, has anyone heard of it before? Or tried it?

I ran across a few things online while looking into other subjects that talked about a drug called DMT or Dimethyltryptamine. It is actually a form of hallucinogen that is near what the brain produces every night while you sleep through the pineal gland. Some people who have taken this drug claim it is not a hallucinogen but an actual gateway to another dimension, where alien like beings live and reality is formed off of complex geometric patterns of lights and color. I know of tribes in the rain forest that use these types of drugs for their shaman experiences from national geographic shows and that native Americans used peyote also to induce hypnotic states. Doctors are actually doing research on what the pineal gland is for and some say that it is actually a eye without a lens with receptors in the middle of our brain like the third eye that people commonly refer to as our sense of foreknowledge. What do you think is it just another waked out drug trip and their brain fooling them it is real or is it actually another dimension formed off of some part of quantum physics we don't understand?
