Food all around the world

To begin with, I am Portuguese. Like most any Portuguese I just love to eat. Most of our culture one way or another revolves around food, and no, we are not obese by any means! Well, at least it's not a problem yet, and unless we just give in completely to fast food chains, I don't think it will be a problem. Even when it comes to business deals most of us will tell you that the best ones are done over lunch or dinner! But this is not the point of this post, or maybe it is...how do you see your culture evolving when it comes to food? are you as a people valuing the small farmers, helping smaller restaurants, or do you believe the faster the better because you have better things to do than to just stop to enjoy a nice dinner with family and friends? I swear the idea is not to judge, but mostly to understand...so, please help me understand points of view on food all around the world!
