It seems that everyone has a different accent...whats your personal favorite. I love so many, British and Irish are tied for being my favorite.

I do not like British, Irish or Spanish at all. I think Italian sounds nice. But I also love the Southern Country Accent - on men and women. It sounds very sweet, caring and wholesome. I am from New Jersey - and Learned to lose that accent - now you would not be able to tell where I am from!

Italian is nice, I'll have to give ya that. Even though I'm one of them I think its a shame that people try to loose their accents, its almost part of your identity. Although for professional reasons its sometimes best. Thanks for your response :)

I understand. I just think the new jersey/new york accent on women does not sound Feminin to me.

I was actually going to ask this last week but never got around to it. I actually love the accents from India. My neighbor is from India and I had a lot of friends from India and Sri Lanka when I was in college and I just love their accents. I also love Australian and some British accents.

I have a hard time understanding Indian accents. I had a chemisty lab professor from India and I had the hardest time understanding him. His english was perfect but his accent was so thick. Perhaps its just because I'm not used to it. Thanks for your response :)

you actually like the southern accent? wow. I was born and raised in the south and when I moved north I tried sooooo hard to get rid of the accent. Sometimes when I'm either tired, upset or drunk I slip back into that accent and my friends look at me like I've gone crazy. Thanks for the response :)

I like the Australian accent to. As far as american accents go I like the eastern accent the best, like from the New York/Jersey/Boston area. What does the midwest accent sound like to folks not accustomed to it? I haven't heard it with fresh ears since I moved there 12 years ago, I've forgotten what it sounds like because I'm so accustomed to it. Thanks for your response :)

I really like Irish accents. I think they're wonderful. So lilting and precocious.

Me too, I like English and Irish accents. I've tried to emulate Scottish and Irish brogue but I just can't do it! I always thought English accents were very fun to listen to.

American huh? Can I ask which accent you speak with? I've often wondered what Americans sound like to the rest of the world...
