Gymnema Sylvestre is a herb native of India where is has been used as Naturophatic Treatment for Diabetes.

There's a lot of scientist test around this herb, but you must ask your doctor before use it.

I have used this and checked my bloodsugarlevels and found they had very little effect, unfortunately. And where I live, thank God you dont have to ask a doctor for it, any ayurvedic practitioner can supply it to you. But it is getting more difficult over here as well to obtain herbs due to the ridiculous systems where poisonous medicines are okayed to boost the farmaceutical industry, the worst thing for health, and innocent herbs are forbidden, such as stevia for instance, simply because it is not distributed by same farmaceutical industries. The world upside down this is.
