A familiar saying goes something like this: " Old age is a matter of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter!" That must have been John Kelley's attitude. Kelley, who died in 2004 at tge age of 96, ran in 58 Boston Marathons ( that's 26.2 miles each time)- including his last one in 1992 when he was 84 years old. Kelley's remarkable feat is a reminder to each of us that we must stay active as long as we can. Far too many folks hit middle age and put the body put their service for Jesus Christ in the same inactive mode. Each of us has a responsibility to God, as long as He gives us physical and mental strength, to work heartily " as to the Lord" (Col. 3:23). We are never called to retire from life and coast hometo heaven. The psalmist said that the righteous "shall still bear fruit in old age' (Ps 92.14). For those who are physically able, that means continuing in active sevice. For those who can no longer move about, that means being active prayer and in quiet service. Let's make sure old age doesn't stop us from bearing fruit. We nee to keep going for God. Growing old but not retiring, for the battle still is on; Going on without relenting Till the final victorys' won. God bless to all. Let us always stay youthful by staying useful...

Yes, you are totally right wendylb. We should not be too concerned with our age. If we are always in His presence, we are "sunbathed" by His glory, and we do stay young, because our mind and heart is at peace. Just like sunbathing, all we do is sit there, but without knowing it, our body receives vitamins, blood circulations is increased, our skin becomes tanned, etc. If we are at His presence, God as the source of life, beauty, strength, peace and comfort will effect you physically too, so we become energetic, positive, beautiful and young. I am 52 but everybody guessed my age is 38 ( I don't have a wrinkle on my face). Why ? I found the fountain of youth....its God's presence.

Just love everyone and everything that you encounter in your life and you will remain youthful. I have a friend who is a nun and is 95 years old. Her youth shows in the way she handles people. She involves herself in everything others do. She will question them and ask about their projects and I think that is the secret of her youth.

Wow! happy to hear that your NUN friend invested much love to others. I hope we all too have that kindness and involvement for others. Especialy, to people without Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Thank you for sharing about your friend. God bless you more.

I like that. :-) I love being young. I'm already 18 but I'm still childlike, because that's what I want to be. When you are youthful, it reflects on your appearance and the way you think.

Good to hear that your still 18, so you still have much time to enjoy God's goodness in your youthful life time. Continue to mature spiritualy. God bless you more. Sharing you Ecclesiates 11:9 Be happy young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follows the ways of your heart and whatever your heart see, but know that for these things God will bring you to judgment.
