marvel is bringing back the role of Peter Parker back to teen years... which means tobey maguire is out. director sam raimi is no longer part of this movie. i read it on the news that they are heading in a new direction. maybe like batman that they will start again in the beginning. there will be a Spider-man 4 but no longer with tobey. this is something to watch out.... who would be the next peter parker. for you who can be a great peter parker? i have no idea.

who would be the next spiderman had been a puzzle to me until the face of aaron stanford flashed in my mind. he's pyro in x-men and am not sure whether he would do another comic character again since he was a bad boy in x-men. hollywood always raises an eyebrow on those who do comic characters left and right. but nobody, who already is familiar in hollywood, like tobey maguire was, has that boy looks that makes spider man a forever young photographer who looks harmless.

i was thinking who was pyro then i got an image. now he would be a cool spidey, but who ever is going to take the place of tobey he needs to prove it very well that he is fit for the role. that is a big shoe to fit. thanks a lot for the response

recently i read a news on sony's choice for the new spiderman. it wasn't aaron stanford (though aaron had been in the top 10 of hollywood's most promising actors when aaron first came out). it was another name that i didn't care to remember because it wasn't known to me. maybe it's the age. am 35. but i do believe he was a lot younger than aaron stanford who's about 33. besides they said the new story would circle around spiederman when he was still in high school. maybe that's why even kirsten dunst wasn't recast as spidey's love interest.

thats the sad part when you change the lead actor.... everything follows. you need to change the leading lady and the rest of the cast. if they will pick a younger version of spidey of course they need to change the actress that will play the love interest. but we still need to see it. i hope this wont be like superman.... people can not get over christopher reeves so that the new superman was not a hit.

Well firstly I think that Sony are making a huge mistake partly because Sam Raimi is a huge part of what makes Spider-Man so good but also after 3 movies we don't need another one especially so soon after the last one came out. Wait 10 years and do a reboot and then it may work but right now doing a high school reboot is destined for failure. As for who could be the new Peter Parker, maybe Zac Efron seeing it's going back to high school. Okay not being sarcastic for a moment and considering that it would need to be a younger actor and one who doesn't bring any baggage with him for being associated with other movies then I would say Emile Hirsch or Josh Hutcherson would be good candidates for the role.

yes i agree with you that Sony is truly making a big mistake with this one. i dont think that zac is a good pick har har har. i agree with josh hutcherson, we saw him grow in his movies, and the other member above you sugested aaron stanford is a good choice as well. thanks a lot for the response

I liked Tobey a lot as spider-man but I'm happy as they are thinking about a new line of spidey movies. Spider-man movies were great but they were becoming less quality product than its previous movie with each one..If they continue the stream Spider-man series may have suffered the fate of old batman movies.. I think some of twilight stars can act as teen spidey..that would be great.. I hope they reboot the franchise as Batman Begins did with batman series..I who loathed batman movies is now a hardcore fan of caped crusader..

i agree with you hiru. that the story has become boring already and before they go down to the drain better start with a fresh one already. people will still remember tobey as spiderman no matter how many actor portrays spiderman. just like adam west the original actor for batman. thanks a lot for the response and welcome to the wonderful world of mylot

That's a tough question. I can't really imagine anyone else playing that role. It will be strange to see it.

i felt the same way when i was watching the superman returns. it was not good for christopher reeves shoes was a large shoe to fit. the new actor who played superman was not convinsing plus the story was not that good either. hope they could find someone who will fit perfectly for the role. thanks a lot for the response

i heard about this too. it will be really difficult to imagine spidey with a different face. I mean, in the first spidey he was in highschool and he was played by tobey already...

its a large shoe to fit in though i know if they pick a good actor then i know we will all watch and apprciate the new spidey. not like the one they choose for a new superman, i dont think it was sucessful for there were no news of another superman movie. thanks a lot for the response

It might be best for Tobey to move on. If you do one role too many times you get typecast.
