Feel happy after haircut?

I cut my hair by myself since 2007. It did save me some money, though I don't like the process... except the very end of it. Everything seems so clear when I finished my haircut. Does anyone has similar feeling? First time user, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have before. I like it really short. I use the electric clippers they use. You can buy them at stores here for about 20 USD. The come with various sizes to cut, I used 1/8th inch. I just shave it up and down, up and down. It's pretty easy. It takes me about 20 minutes or less. Since I'm doing it is free. I have gone to the barber it costs about 7 USD plus tip. That's pretty cheap, but some days he isn't opened (for example not open on Sundays and Mondays). I don't have to worry about going on their schedule because I can cut it whenever. If you want to learn I know there are books at the library that you can learn more complicated hair cuts. Moreover you could read the booklet that comes with the electric clippers.

I dont cut my hair by myself. However, I do go to a place that only charges me $7 and everytime I leave there I feel great and fresh. I too, look for ways to cut costs and I find that u do have to look around. Some of the best places to go are the ones that are not owned by a chain. Some of the little shops by owner are cheaper and they really know what they are doing. Save yourself the frustration of the process and if you think about it the most your going is once or twice every 2 months. With the time you save from cutting your own hair you can do something else that you enjoy more. Money will always be an issue but you only live once. Don't sweat the small stuff.

You're right time= $$. When I was really busy I would just leave my hair growing. The problem is, I will have to cut it twice every month, and there is not many barber's in my small town :)

I have a roommate who cuts her hair sometimes but it is very tiny change after she cuts it,for instance, the part on her forehead, she usually cuts one mm every time. To be honest,I hated haircut when I was young because barbers used to allow water to enter my eyes when washing my hair;what was worse,I did not like short hair when I was a teenager. Sadly enough,my mum was in charge at that time. Smile seldom appeared on my face after a haircut. Things have changed after I entered university for my mum let me decide on my hairstyle now(sounds a little weird, but true). Therefore,I let my hair grow really long. Once in a while,I still go to barber shop. They cut my hair well,so I felt rather happy after it. However, they sometimes think less considerate also. I recall once one of the staff cut some of my hair kind of short to make a change, but it would not show the effect of his skill until you use hairdryer to make it curly everyday. It irritates me because I don't have that much time and patience to do that and he even didn't tell me about the trouble before he cut my hair. At any rate, the incidence of such accident is rare. It would be another experience to have a change sometimes. Have a try! Just make sure both you and he or her know what to do.

Hi jolspor, You cut your hairs by your self... Wow... I never do that, it must be really hard... I once had my mom cut it when i was about 10 years old, and it really sucks... And finally i went to barber shop to get it fixed...
