Should Thomas the tank engine be changed ?

When I was little as far as I was concerned Thomas the tank engine was the best program on TV. Now they are thinking of changing him because of Ethical reasons, his colours and look has been totally revamped and looks nothing like the orginal one. It's the same case with all of the other engines I'm afraid. So should Thomas be changed ? Is it time for a revamp or does it take away his identity ? Shopuld thomas the tank engine be changed ?
