Hi myloters,which would you miss much of your home town when you are living in other city or country for work or study? I often recall the picture of sitting around a stove with whole family in a cold winnter snow night,putting food such as vegetables,meat into a big copper basin which above the fire with full of chicken soup, we eat and shoot the breeze ,to share the Bad and Good things of the day together,and you can see the snowflake ourside the window,I never forget such warm feeling in comparison with cold weather,it should be the only reason for me to leave the big morden city where I lived.

hello greentea! right now i am living far away from my hometown, well same country just different province. and what i miss about my hometown? everything! i miss the place, the foods the people and of course my family! i also miss my mom's cooking and my gimmick days with my friends. i also miss the foods, those food stalls at night where my friends & i used to hang out and those local resto where my family & i use to eat whenever there's an occasion! i really miss everything about my hometown and sometimes, its funny that i even miss the noise in our neighborhood even those irritating neighbors that we have there, i also miss them! haha there's really no place like home!

true...coz we don't usually appreciate things when its still with us... we will just know how important something or a place to us, when its not already with us or when we are no longer there...

Its been two and half years since I left my hometown, I missed my family so much, my mom especially...yes, I missed the things we do together as a family, like eating dinner together, and our eldest sister would come over to visit us bringing something like Ice cream and hot cheese bread..sharing thoughts,experience,laughter with them. I missed my mother's specialty.

yes, she is.. she even help me in my allowance when I was in college, and even after she got married she can still help us in our needs, he brings grocery every now and then to our mom's house., but now she's in pain dear, she's been waiting for 10 years for that baby but unfortunately she failed to keep the baby.

Wow, that's a really good picture Greentea. SO much family warmth.^^ For me, the thing I would miss most is my bed. LOL Kidding aside, whenever I go on a travel, I miss most my whole room. The comfort of my room. I can do everything there, I just can be sloppy and no one would notice.^^;; I would also miss my little niece and my little nephew. It's always so much fun watching them do their thing. LOL Especially my little niece, she is such a darling! She's only two years old but she already knows how to sing and dance. And she's always so cheerful. She's just such a dear.^^

Yes! It really is terrible sometimes to look after them all the time. Sometimes, you just have to take a break. After all, kids are not always so cheerful and happy, they throw tantrums too.^^;;

:D there must be lot of fun that living with little kids,they laughed more than adult,they did lots of things to make us happy, you can prepare a camera to record all the interesting things they did and it will become your precious memory. To be honest ,I like kids just when I am playing with them ,it sounds terrible to look after them all the time,haha,anyway hope you and your family live weel and laugh often

Well my friend. I miss the presence of my home environment and my family members. I also miss the peaceful environment of my home town. I miss the way of life I experience everyday in my area. I can never compare any other place with my town. Though there are so many towns in Bangladesh which offer many other facilities than my town, I feel like heaven in my home town. Good luck!

I would miss my family, my friends and my pets. I would miss the types of food I can buy in my favorite supermarket in my home country. My longest trip away from home was my trip around the world and on that Australia did feel a bit like home. I got sent letters from my family and friends. My best friend announced her wedding and invited me to be brides maid. I got back home the next year and got to be the brides maid at her amazing wedding. I love traveling and have been to fifty different countries, I know that home sickness can set in after three weeks on a long trip.

When I was a child, I was happy to go here and there, and sometimes I lose my way which made my parents feel upset, but I still look forward to going to a remote place to live. Now the most happiest thing for me is stay with my family every day. So we can draw a conclusion that people's mental state will change according to many things.

I live in a cool country in Europe. I went to work as a children's nanny in Finland when I was 18 years old. I enjoyed that experience very much indeed but I missed my family a lot. After that I traveled around Europe by train. My longest trip was when I was 20 years old. I traveled around the world. I know that on a long trip like that home sickness happens during week three.

To tell you the truth, I live really far away from my home town but I haven't felt homesick so far. I know a lot of foreigners here, and they feel like me too. I guess that once you get used to a place it turns into your home. If you live there, it will turn into the capital, they say here
