who knows a good way to get rid of the wine when you hit the bottle?

I have no idea about "hit the bottle" before. When people drink a lot, we have tradition ways to make people more comfortable. But my friends told me that "hit the bottle" wasn't the meaning of drinking a lot one time!
Do you know any tradition way to quit the wine?
