Midnight Meat Train---SPOILER

I saw Midnight Meat Train recently, and although I love Bradley Cooper, I was pretty disappointed. I think it had a good plot, but you only become aware of it's mystery during the last 10 minutes. What you find out at the end is that there are these strange/scary/bad creatures living under New York City, and only a group of people know about them. And what this group of people does is kill and harvest people to keep these monsters fed so they don't reek havoc on the city. I think that could be a very good story IF done right, BUT Midnight Meat Train mostly just focused on the graphic murdering and butchering of these INNOCENT people that are being killed to feed these monsters. If I had an idea like this, I would have done it completely different. Mine would not be graphic (really, it's not needed), and I would focus on the good part of the plot (not the killing).

I am a big Clive Barker fan and I read the short story this is based on. The movie is pretty close to the book, you do not find out what is going on until the end so don't blame the movie. I thought Vinnie Jones was great as the mute killer. I do agree that it was very graphic but that seems to be the thing nowadays

Yeah, I don't like gore in movies so it kind of bums me out that so many movies now are gory. Because I am a HUGE horror fan, but I hate the gore that accompanies them in movies! I did see a movie recently called House that I thought was fairly well done. Here's a link to it. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809760998/info I just wish the story would have done more with the creatures, because if I remember correctly they were pretty wicked!

Wanted to add something... Even though I hate gore, I won't say that I'll never watch a movie that has it. There are some good movies that do have gore in them. but when the movie is ALL about the gore and pain, I don't like it. Like the Saw movies, no way. No way on Hostel movies either. And I recently saw a movie called The Collector that was kind of along those lines, just all about awful ways this man can hurt and kill people. I don't like that.

Thanks for the link, I must check that one out. Yeah I am with you on the gore, I can handle it once it has a good story and it has to be a good story lol. All Gore and no story line it really freaks me out to be honest. Hollywood needs to take a good long look at itself and give us something different from the past few years. I cant think of any recommendations except Switchblade Romance because you liked Intensity as I said it is a rip off but worth a watch. Although I am getting Paranormal Activity 2 this weekend on DVD, I know you were the one who turned me on to the first one, cant wait to see it.

Hi. LilyoftheThorns. I saw this movie in 2009. This movie gave me the creeps every time that I thought about it. It was very terrifying. It gave me bad thoughts for life, when I watched this movie. I did not like how the way that the movie ended. I did not like how the guy's fiancee was murdered. I also hated the way that his tongue was pulled from his mouth by the monster! When I see this butcher on any other movies, I see him as a bad guy always. When he killed the people on this movies, it made me think of him as a monster, even if he is playing a good character on a new movie/show.

I`ve seen this movie about a month ago and i was also disapointed from it. In the end of the movie i didn`t get all the information i wanted to get. What exactly were these creatures, where they come from? This was really interesting for me and i hoped to see this in the end, but no it didn`t happened.
