My Furbaby

I am writing here to see if anyone else feels this way. I have an 8 yr old Yorkie that is absolutely spoiled rotten. I have been accused of loving her too much. Can that happen I ask? I think not. She is absolutely my best friend. She is there when I am sick. She is there when I am watching TV. She is there waiting at the door to greet me when I come home. She even sleeps in my bed with me complete on her back, head on pillow and covers up to her chin. Is this nuts? How about you? Do you have a special furbaby in your life? I can't possibly be the ONLY one! LOL

You're not nuts my friend. You're a person who loves her Furbaby very much, it's much better to dote on your Yorkshire Terrier rather than ignoring her, don't you think? I love the fact she sleeps with you with her head on the pillow. My cat does the same although she's not on her back in bed, her whole body is on my pillow. Guess who has the most room? So no, you are not on your own. We dote on our Furbabies because, let's face it, who else is going to?

Janey so nice to hear! I know that everyone in my family thinks I am absolutely nuts! She is so cute though. When it's really cold in the house like it has been lately she will sit right beside me with her little ears perked up in a questioning manner begging me to get under the covers. I like to tease her and pretend to ignore and then she will do this little rumble in her chest at me and smile. I swear she smiles. She actually pulls her lips back and shows her teeth at me. It makes me laugh and laugh. Then I will lift up the covers and she runs right up under them. Now, we do have a huge Siamese cat as well. He and my yorkie will fight. He walks into the room and jumps onto the bed. The dog will actually come out from under the covers to nip at him until he jumps off. I think these furbabies will be the ones with us through thick and thin!

Haha! A huge Siamese cat and a cute, little Yorkie, you've got your hands full there my friend! When hubby lived with his parents they had a Yorkshire Terrier. I wish he'd been alive when I met them all, but it wasn't to be. I knew a friend who had two though...and my Uncle Dougie had two as well. They're everywhere it seems! I bet your Yorkie keeps you warm. Awww. What's her name? And the Siamese as well? My cat is called Flojo.

Janey, AHHHH Flojo!! What a cool name! My yorkie is named Sassie and the cat is named Samson or Sam for short. Their names are really a testament to their personalities! Sassie is indeed sassy! and Samson is named that because he is sooo big! I would love to hear more about your cat!

Well, if you are nuts let me join your club hahaha because I also have a furbaby myself. He is far from being a baby though..he is old nowdays. He also used to sleep in my bed all covered with his head on a pillow when my husband was not in bed lol. I used to love cuddling next to him and fall asleep especially on those sleepy pregnancy days. Since a few years ago he no longer sleeps in my bed because he has developed arthritis. The mattress is high and he can't jump that high up because he would fall and hurt himself. Even though he is old he still plays a lot and "asks" he wants to play...I know his "language" hahaha...(they way he looks at me, moves his tail, walks etc). Anyway..don't listen to anybody and just enjoy your furybaby ok? :)

You are so sweet! Sounds like you are a true furbaby master! HAHA! Sassie (my yorkie) has trained me in the matters of getting on the bed. Mine too is a high one and she simply comes over and shakes her "jewelry" on her collar (she has a princess tag and her tags which we call her jewelry). Then after she shakes I roll over practically still asleep and pick her up and toss her on the bed beside me. It's so funny because I am a horrible sleeper and have to get up a thousand times throughout the night and pee or drink water. Well, it appears she has taken on my bad habits and she has to get up and drink water all night too! LOL Tell me more about your furbaby! I would love to hear it! It's nice to have some others as "crazy" as I am about mine!

It's really great to hear that you took him in like that. I have lost my furbaby twice now! She once was stolen by someone in our neighborhood who wanted to breed her but my furbaby is smart and got away! That's an entire story in itself! The 2nd time she ran from our new home back to our old home we had recently moved from. Because I had her microchipped she was able to be returned safe and sound. Thank goodness because I was a wreck crying all the time! It's so nice to know that there are caring people in the world to look out for all furbabies! I myself am not permitted to look at the shelter website because I would adopt all yorkies I saw and the humans in our house would not have room! LOL

Well, he has been with me for the last almost 12 years. We believed he is around 14 years old. We don't know for sure; he is adopted..ssshhhhhh..don't tell him, it would hurt his feelings and get traumatized :( hahahaha. He was lost and I guess he was brought in to the HS center. When I saw him, he reminded me of a movie I saw a long time ago of a little dog. He looked a lot like him but looked rough from being in the streets. His hair looked damaged, he was thin and thirty..like a regular street dog. Because of this, my husband was hesitant on adopting him, but I was able to look past through his appearance and see that he would become a great looking dog with some TLC. I said: "Come on let adopt him, he just need a bath and gain some weight and you'll see..he looks just like the dog from the movie!" Even my dad was like numb when he saw him. His face was like "say what?..that's DOG you adopted?" :( lol Well he gained weight and his hair improved got shiny..and became a very looking dog. People would comment he looked like the dog from the movie without me even saying it...and I would say "oh that's his name by the way". He has been a very smart dog. He has lost most of hearing but when he was younger he had big voculary. He understood the words: bone, no bone(meaning he was not getting one lol) water, urinate, caca, grandma house(my mom) oh and bath! he hated that word hehehe. Now you have to clap with your hands so that he pays attention to you because he doesn't hear well. He still likes to play and comes around to play especially around the time I'm getting ready to give my kids a bath; he tries to grab the dirty clothes. Sometimes he runs with them in his mouth or runs after the kids when they are running undressed around the house and my kids love that. Anyway that's pretty much all about him. As you can see he is part of the family by now :)
