I gave oDesk another chance.

I decided to give oDesk another chance. I sign up yesterday and bidded for a re-writing job. Today I went through a brief interview with the employer and now I am hired for the job. I know that it is legit because the buyer has gave me an upfront payment of $0.50 and when I finish I will recieve the full payment of $11. It is seriously the biggest payment I will have ever recieved. My opinion of oDesk as completely change and I am very much pleased with the outcome of my latest venture.

hello bystander On odesk there are so many catagories to write in. If you find a job that you think will suit you then there is no harm in bidding. You never know, you might get lucky.

I work through oDesk and make good money. There are a lot of opportunities there once you get started. I personally think it is the best freelance site out there because there is such a large variety of job types. You can even find full time jobs on there. I am making enough that I am planning to quit my regular job and work exclusively from home, and oDesk will be the majority of my income. I have a couple of blog posts (link is in my profile) about oDesk and how to get hired. Once you get a couple of jobs done and listed in your profile, the rest come much easier. I'm glad you have found a positive experience on oDesk, I'm sure you'll soon have plenty of jobs to choose from.

There are a lot of providers finding success and steady income in oDesk. I don't think it will make you reach, but it can give you an additional income stream. I've signed up quite a while back, but the jobs I'm looking for isn't exactly what was available at the time. Though some people seem to be able to manage their time between a full time employment and their odesk jobs, I find that it will be a hard undertaking for me. Goodluck and more success to you!

I have given up on odesk. Unluckily, i wasn't hired ever since i signed up. My applications always end up being cancelled because it's either the buyer has not followed the terms that were set by odesk or i was simply not chosen to do the job.=(

That's great to hear. I am not a fan of Odesk, I found you have to put in too much work to actually get work. Elancer is a good site, you may check it out if you haven't signed up for it yet. There are some great jobs on there, however the competition is high, just like any other site like Odesk. Good luck!

Say, ImIrish, what was the reason for given odesk another try, you didn't say. I'm trying to get into the writing field myself. I'm looking at writing term papers, it's a hassle trying to get these article writing jobs on those freelance job boards. I think most are scams where the poster tries to get you to send them a sample article. just think about if they get a 100 people to send sample articles they got their work done for free. ......

Ok where did I go wrong I also took the test to rewrite and they said I bid to high. I ask for 9 dollars. I saw others had asked for 10 dollars so I thought if I ask for 9 they would hire me. Please let me know what I did wrong. Thanks and good luck to you with Odesk.
