Kapil Dev - A bowling all-rounder or batting all-rounder?

i am actually surprised that you are distinguishing among all rounders. Kapil Dev was a genuine all rounder who could bat and bowl exceptionally well. It is these days where people have started to say batting and bowling all rounders because the players have been trained or selected in teams according to their bowling or batting talents. During matches it was found that the other side of the coin also was good and hence they became all rounders.

I don't understand as to how you started a post on Kapil Dev in these days when he is not in the limelight or more importantly he is not in the news. How did you remember such a great player when all the attention is now shifted towards various issues of you cricket like the South Africa tour or the upcoming IPL. Anyways, I don't think Kapil Dev is known that much for his batting like his bowling is. Well, he might be an all-arounder no doubt, he is first a bowler and then a batsman. He broke the record for the highest number of Test wickets when he crossed the 431 wicket mark. He had the ability to take wickets and more importantly break partnerships. That made him a great bowler. The Haryana hurricane first made his mark with his bowling as far as I feel. He has had his share of luck with batting too. The epic 175 against Zimbabwe when India were nothing like 17/5, cannot be sidelined. If anyone happens to write anything on Kapil Dev he has to include his knock of 175. Other than anything else I will call Kapil Dev a bowler who can bat or a bowling all rounder.

Kapil dev is the best all-rounder India has over got till now no other all-rounder India has got.I think he will never get the chance to became the coach of the Indian team because BCCI don't like him and having nothing common in them.If he get the chance then he will be the coach of all the departments bowling,batting and fielding.
