Self Prepared Tax Returns

Do you do your own tax returns? If you do, what software if any do you use. If not, which company do you use or do you do the whole thing by hand yourself with tax tables and a calculator? I used to be able to do them totally by myself until we started a side business. Then it got to complicated and I moved to using Turbo Tax, which I love. I don't know that I would want a stranger seeing my finances let alone someone I actually know. My mother-in-law offered to do them for us when we got married. Thank goodness I had enough sense to politely say I would be doing them myself. She just wanted to see what our income and expenses were. What is your opinion?
