Do you normally upgrade your membership to PTC sites?

I believe many of us have joined ptc sites referred to us by friends and fellow mylotters. We know that upgraded memberships has more benefits and higher earnings. Do you normally upgrade your memberships even if it costs you some dollars? Are you satisfied for doing that? Is it worth it? I always use the free membership and felt like I was left out. Earnings for free members are very limited but I am afraid to spend my earnings for upgraded membership, I might lose the money and get nothing in return. There are also rented referrals, and I have not tried this yet. I have difficulty in encouraging friends to join under my banner so I thought I need to rent referrals but I have not tried this yet. Please advice me what should I do to increase my earnings, I know that a lot of the members here are already been members of ptc's for a long time and knew a lot about investing to such. Please advice, thanks!
