shadow of a object......little educational...

i am doing a project. If you look at the shadow of a geometrical shape ,that is square,cube, triangle, circle..anything), the shadow will give another geometric shape! from a cube we can see rectangle, square, hexagon... frm circle... ellipse.. like ways many examples.. the thing i want to know is can anyone give any theoritical base for this...

shapes of shadows depends on how the light falls on the object.. no ?? like how during the day our shadow changes depending on 'where the sun' is..

Depending on light placement is what form the shadow takes. The shadow of the object can be manipulated.

sorry dude.You'll need to spend some more time in a univ. library,,,not in mylot.
