Hi Mylotters. Chinese New year is just in few days. In my country, the country do not celebrate it. We just have public holiday. But as Chinese, we do have our own celebration. So, the celebration is just area per area. But we do celebrate as what the custom is supposed to be. Giving hong bao, greeting gongxifachai, etc. How's the celebration in your country. Share some here ^.^

I am in Australia and the Chinese people so celebrate and we Aussie;s tend to go long with it, we have a little China town area of the main city and every year they bring out the big Chinese dragon which I believe has been the longest in the world..Happy New year to all our Chinese friends...

this year's new year's day is the same day as Valentine's day,so people maybe get double happiness that day. actually, we have been already preparing for the celebration, foods, new clothes, hong bao etc.honestly,i didn't usually participate in the celebration activities, instead ,i stay at home and all family get together eating chatting and wishing all the best for the coming year, it's also interesting. welcome to china to enjoy the spring festival ;)

Yup. It's on Feb 14. The same day as Valentine's day. China is having annual events to celebrate chinese new year rite? I ever went there once but it's after chinese new year. but the decorations are still there. I wonder how it looked like during the CHinese new year.

Here is our country mostly chinese people only celebrate Chinese New Year although as far as I know some Filipinos even though they're not chinese did the same maybe because of the influenced that the chinese people. It's important also because we appreciate it in our own little way although our New Year is January 1 every year but during chinese new year that's the time that tikoy is all around the areas because we believe that it's lucky and give fortune as well.
