Are We Really Recovering From This Economic Crisis?

I think this question is in everybody's minds as we enter the beginnings of 2010. Amidst all the hows and whys we arrive at this stage, I cannot help but ask so what actually went wrong? Coming from so many years of trials and errors, painstaking educations and implementations, I feel do not know just how these people, the very people who are certified, qualified and voted into office could ever make such a big mistake and cause this catastrophe for the whole world. Then, we have the governments coming in to bail out the companies - insurance, banks, cars and other MNCs. Yet, there is not one single day we read that these people have spend justifiably or done anything to contribute to the recovery of the economy. We see insurance companies paying out exorbitant bonuses, CEO getting handsome incentive handouts, banks not borrowing and now we see some gainfully employed people engaging in activities that will even drag their country and her economy into further turmoil. Headlines 1 - £175,000-a-year air controllers threaten holiday strike over pay to cause Easter break chaos http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1248471/Spain-holiday-risk-countrys-air-traffic-controllers-threaten-strike.html#ixzz0eh4rQjZL Headlines 2 - Plunging euro drags sterling to 8-month low amid fears of debt default and concern over UK's ragged public finances http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1248584/European-economy-crisis-panic-leads-euro-tumble-jolt-stock-market.html And what do you think they are doing to help alleviate the problem? You won't believe it!! Headline 3 - British Airways unveils £342m losses as airline heads for its worst year ever (but staff will vote on strike) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1248683/British-Airways-50m-loss-smaller-expected.html I do not think these doings are contributing to any improvements for the turmoil the world is facing. Just cannot help shaking my head and not see any recovery sooner. All I see is everyone trying to dig a deeper hole for the grave not just for themselves but for the rest of the world. Can we tell them to stop?

The only way to tell them is when elections come up or to start protest.

Logan3745, Sometimes, I wonder if all those protests actually achieved anything and especially during this adverse economic climate. It just cost more inconveniences and worst cause the economy to suffer. Imagine holding up vital services and causing a breakdown on every infra structure that is so vital for the economy's recovery. This is simply crazy and makes people actually wonder the drastic form of control and governance would actually benefit the community and quell down the tensions all round. Take care and have a nice day.
