Can Work Under Pressure

This keeps on running in my mind, it all happened 6 years ago but its just keeps on popping in my mind ever since last week and I don't know why. So here goes... Six years ago I just graduated college and I was trying to find a job. I listed my know photography, sketching, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, etc and also added that I can work under pressure. I read in a newspaper that the company needed a sculptor so I told myself "Why not give it a try?" I called the company and they said to drop by and so I did the next. The guy gave me a brief description what the company was and he told me to leave my resume and the owner was going to call me. Late afternoon I got a call from the owner and guess what she said... "I was checking your resume and I got interested that you can work under pressure. You can give me a sample of your sculptures and I don't need any of your other skills. I dont need someone who can use photoshop or premier 'coz I don't need it in my company! I don't need your knowledge in photography 'coz I can get a professional photographer! I ONLY got interest 'coz you can WORK UNDER PRESSURE!" What would you do if you were in my position?

A lot of companies want their employee can work under high pressure, especially for the college student who has no working experience. It's reasonable. For the student, they have to change their view towards work. They have to learn a lot of things on their position. There is a period exist from student to staffer. If the student can't handle it well, they will get frustrated and want to resign. I graduated from college for less than 2 years and I can feel it very directly. And if I were you, I will take it, especially in the bad economic situation. Haha!

That was 6 years ago LOL I don't know why it just keeps popping in my mind. Maybe because its the first job that I applied for? hahaha I ended up working in a call center industry and then after a few months I went into graphic designing.

Well since I can work under pressure I would have taken that job myself unless I'm not good with sculpture work. So what did you do at that time, did you take the job?

Well, since you had written that, then be proud and prove to them that you are indeed right for the job. Just resign if the pressure become too unbearable. Remember, you'll never know unless you try!
