Is there a way to prevent cramps when a person swims for around 2 hours or more? I hate getting cramps and it hurts me a lot. Please respond and Thank You.

Have you tried warm ups before you swim? Warm ups preconditions your body before you swim and this also avoids cramps. Another, keep yourself hydrated and eat foods rich in potassium. Good luck.

What I usually do to keep myself from cramps is to bring LOTS OF WATER! I usually bring 5 bottles and I still have cramps after I drink the 5 bottles. I sweat a LOT!

I suggest you also dring sports water - water is not enough to keep you dehydrated - such as Gatorade. We lose electrolytes which is bad - gatorade supplies electrolytes and potassium into our system I swim around 2-2.5 hours on weekends. I always bring water and gatorade. I also do warmups and cool down exercises. I also suggest you do warm up to stretch your body before swimming - this will help in avoiding cramps.
