Copper Penny Hoarding

Ok so this is kind of an interesting topic but I am just trying to get a feel of how many people out there hoard pre 1982 copper cents (pennies). For those who don't know the composition of these pennies make them work around two times their face value at the moment but there is much speculation that the price of copper will continue to rise over the next few years. This makes these pennies an excellent, as well as low risk, investment. I've been pulling them out of circulation for a little while now and I have a little hoard but I've heard of some people having 2 plus tons of pennies sitting around. Is there anyone else out there as strange as me? Please respond so I feel a little less weird. My friends and fiance think I am crazy.

Back about mid 80s when they stopped using solid copper for pennies and started using zinc...I did buy about $5 worth of uncirculated 100% coper pennies. They are still in the plastic cover the bank gave them to me in and have been in a safe ever since. Do you have any idea as to their value? I also have a LA 1984 23rd Olympiad silver dollar that I am trying to get a value on...any suggestions?
