Has anyone ever given you something real expensive with no intentions of getting anything in return? Well for those of you that have answered my earlier post and I didn't respond it wasn't because I didn't want too. Yesterday morning my husbands computer died on him so I spent the day trying to fix it. But the hard drives I have, have windows 95 and 98 on them. And they died shortly after hooking them up. I called a friend of ours and ask him if his uncle had an extra hard drive lying around. He said he would check. And called my mother in law to see if her husband had one and they got one but it will be days before I can get it. So this friend calls back and says he don't have one but he has a brand new computer that he don't need cause he got a new one for Christmas. Now I don't have the money to pay him for it but he says no he wants to give it too me! Wow this is a nice jester. Him and his family have given us many expensive gifts which I thank God for. And this morning I have been at it all day trying to get the net hooked up to this really nice computer. It has Vista on it and I haven't been able to figure my way around it yet but I will. So have you been given an expensive gift like this before? Thank God it is another blessing from God. What was your expensive gift given to you? Did you ever give something expensive to someone just cause? And didn't expect anything in return? Could you give an expensive gift and never look back?

well.. for me life itself is already a gift from god.. to me it is the greatest gift that i have received.. and i think that money cant buy life.. coz as we all know, no matter how much the medicines, operations and hospitalizations cost, it cant stop us from dying if god has already planned it for us.. but then again when it comes to material things, my answer would be the watch my girl gave me last Christmas.. i bought her a necklace with a heart locket with our picture in it.. but i didnt have any intention of getting something of that value from her.. we were both as surprised when we opened each other's gifts.. but i really dont care about the price value of what people give me.. i care about the value of the thought that put into when they bought the gift for me.. no matter what the price of the gift, its the thought that counts..

Hi Theonehush. It is always the thought not the price of something that matters to me. It was just that I prayed about finding a hard drive to fix my other computer but God sent me a better gift HE sent me a brand new computer. But your right it isn't what something cost it comes from the heart that is what counts. I was just counting my blessings I recieve daily from God. That was the whole point of this discussion. With out God in lives what would we have? Nothing because without God there is no real life for any of us. God blesses all of those of us that say thank you and love our Heavenly Father.

Hi Theonehush. I didn't give him one red cent. He knows we live on a fixed income and can't afford to spend much these days. I asked him how much he wanted for this fine computer he said absoultely nothing. But the blessings come from God! God blesses us daily. I can't count the many many blessings that God has given me in my life time. I don't sit and worry about things either I know God will provied what I need and HE provieds most of my wants too. And I thank God for these blessings HE bestows upon us.

wow.. very well said free man.. couldn't have said it better myself.. i actually agree with you.. very nice.. its nice to know that people also appreciate what you give without asking you how much did it cost you to give it to them.. well to me, the cost aint gonna matter.. but then again its what i think is best that i will give for the person.. i also never neglect to thank HIM for the blessing of everyday coz as what you've said, without god, we are nothing.. very true.. have a good day...

I've got few great expensive gifts from my parents. first one i got was the watch that they gave me on my 18th birthday. on my 20th birthday I got a great car that i'm still driving, which is probably the most expensive gift i will ever get from somebody :) and then finally, last year, after i finished my studies at university i got a great holiday trip to Tunisia to get some rest after a long year of studying :)

Yes, I did receive several expensive gifts from people who are close to me. Most especially from my wife. In return, I have also showered my love ones with great gifts. Some of the are quite expensive but of course very much useful.

Hi Jpso. It is always nice to get nice gifts. Your wife must really love you. It is really nice to be able to give such a gift to someone for no reason. I am in shock though this young man is a great guy. God sent me my husband and through my husband I met this young man. His family has been good to me and my husband. We are blessed to have this young man and his family in our lives.

Hi Anime. Boy what a nice gift to give to someone. I have had a few rings in my life time but they all came from people I knew I wouldn't ever care about. My husband just gave me a diamond ring I love it will always keep it on my finger.

You just have nice friends. Actually, my mother in law have give a really expensive necklace to me. But I think this is not real answer you want, I kind have some example opposite of you. Last time, I went to dinner in my friends house, they asked if we had bike, we said my husband and I just have one, and he said he had buy one during some garage sale and never use it, it really take some space of garage so they want give it to us. We of course said no, but they insist and said we can use to drive to the park or something for fun. So we kind didn't want to destroy their kind, so we said ok, and we said to give money back to them ,but they say no. Because of something we didn't get it that day, but the next week when they give us bike, they said they buy it for $10, want us to give back money. I really shock, but we said ok and give them money, but it really hurt me. Before that I have give them some really nice stuff when they saw it in our apartment and kind like it, I just give it to them. I didn't mean I want free stuff, in the first place we didn't ask for it, but they said they want give it away and say a lot, but they could just aks for money, but they said no, at last they said we need to pay for it, and that bike have some brake problem, I can't drive really well, I have to take some palce to fix it! It really break my heart, maybe they are not my friends

Hi Shan. Maybe they didn't know the brakes didn't work. Maybe they are your friends just don't know how you are. It must have been a God send to get the extra bike. You can learn to drive it better. I know it was a God send that this young man gave me such a nice computer.

The question is have you ever had a real nice expensive gift given to you? Yes.. One time i was really upset because my flight in going home was delayed due to weather condition. I'm very busy contacting my family back home to tell them that i can't get home as scheduled. What my special someone do is that he surprised me! He gave me a pair of earrings and a bracelet. I was shocked because at that moment I'm really problematic and there he is giving me that gift. I don't know if its expensive or not but what matters most to me is the thought that counts.

Mostly earrings and a watch and of course my wedding wring. I think it is a nive thing to give things to people. I am not one that really cares if I get anything or not. But thank God this young man gave me such a nice computer.
