Would there be any alternative for Internet?

Internet is used in nearly every field. Many things have became possible solely because of internet. The world has come closer because of internet. How would it be if Internet was never invented? There would be no instant source of knowledge and information, no emails, no chatting, no online banking, no connectivity between the world, and the most important no MYLOT. How would it be? Would there be any other alternative for internet?

Actually, life will still go on without the Internet. Internet just provides a convenient way for people to achieve a whole lot of tasks within short time. However, with that, it also comes a whole lot of expectations and worries. This just makes our life more complicated. You are now expected to do multi-task, research on your own and achieve a lot of things with this convenience.
