Hello everyone. Hope you are all OK on this horrible, damp, depressing Monday! However, I may be able to cheer you up, especially if you have been looking for online Typing Courses, only to find that they cost "an arm and a leg" to join. Below is a link to a site I use fairly often. Due to me being out of work I wanted to find a site whereby I could still type, therefore maintaining this skill for whenever I am interviewed for jobs that require typing (which is practically all of them) lol. I would suggest going easy at the beginning because if you force yourself to type too fast then you will make loads of mistakes. I know this because I've done it! So, please give it a try and let me know what you think. If you have any questions about the site please feel free to ask me anything. I am here to help. By the way, it is NOT my site!! My site is the blog on my profile page, that is the only one I have. I just thought I'd clear that one up. http://www.typeonline.co.uk/ Have fun!

My typing speed it terrible. I have to learn how to write with all fingers, right? Oh the site is awesome. How long do you think will take me to learn? I am tired after 2 minutes...

Well I think you type very well. At least you are accurate. I've no idea how long it would take from scratch as I tend to use it as an accuracy test (I get too stressed out timing myself) lol. Personally, I would do the accuracy test and don't worry about the speed. A different passage for a different book comes up each time. I love it! It will be interesting to see how accurate you are not typing with all your fingers, it doesn't really matter in my opinion. A friend of mine used to type with just two fingers and she was brilliant! Have fun with it.

Um, remind me not to tell you how nice our weather has been.... I learned to type in Jr. High School, so the public school system here actually did me a service. Nowadays all the kids learn, but back then it was an elective.

That was taken up at Lake Tahoe during the summer, so naturally the sky was blue! :-)

Well, I decided to take typing as a subject for the last two years at school because it was in preference to something else I could've done (which escapes me at the moment) and it was Mum who persuaded me to do the typing anyway as it's a skill and "will come in handy" if I work in an office somewhere...how right she turned out to be! I love your profile pic and the blue sky as the backdrop is wonderful. I adore blue sky and we do get it here now and again lol.

You are most welcome my friend. The number-crunching looks interesting too doesn't it? I've been in jobs where I have had to use the numbers on the right-hand side of the keyboard...for inputting invoices and such-like. It's amazing how fast the speed becomes with practice and it's the same with this site. The best part is that you can go at your own pace and have fun at the same time. I would say it is the best "free" typing site but I have not researched for any others, to be honest.

I came across one some years ago, but lost the link. Way back when, when I was taking a WordPerfect course, they had Word Invaders, just like Space Invaders but with letters and words. That was fun.

It is not horrible, damp or depressing here! It is hot, hot, hot! That looks like a great site for people to practice their typing, but I get all my practice here. My typing has improved a lot since I started here at myLot. Sometimes I make mistakes, but the spell check always picks them up and I go over the whole sentence at the end to correct any errors!

I do know what you mean although I thought the site in question would help people who don't have English as their mother-tongue, you know what I mean? If I can help just one person I'll be well satisfied...and yes, you are right, typing on here can help enormously with spelling, grammar, English, allsorts. It's great that there doesn't seem to be a limit in how much we type lol!
