What are the drunk driving penalties in your country or state?

Where I live they suspend your license for six months and give a $1,000 dollar fine for the first offense.Then I know the penalties get harsher on the repeat offender,where they'll get a prison term to serve.In your country what are the penalties of driving drunk?

I am not sure on that one, but I think a drunk driver may lose his license in our country and may be charged with up 1,800$ fee. If the same offender gets caught again, he may be imprisoned for couple of months and lose his license for a long time. I think penalties for drunk driving should be really hard.
