I used to have a apple tree in our yard. I used to climb the tree all of the time. I loved climbing this tree. One day I was climbing it to challenge my brother on who could climb the highest. He went first can came down with no problem. Then I went and when I got as high as I wanted to go looked down. I freaked out and started getting scared of heights. It scared me so much. When I almost got down to the bottom I slipped and fell down from the tree. Lucklily I did not hurt myself. I got some bruises and was alittle sore but I was ok. I was very thankful for that. I do have to say I don't climb trees anymore. Climbing trees is just too dangerous and I don't want to break any bones. I leave climbing for the animals that climb the trees.

I've fallen out of trees a couple of times, usually by losing my footing when I was on my way down. I've never fallen more than 6 or 7 feet though, and never received any injuries from it. I have an uncle who wasn't so lucky, though. We had a really bad wind storm one year, and afterward a lot of trees were down on our lot. One was tilted at an angle so that you could walk up the tree trunk. My uncle got about 10 feet aboveground and then slipped and fell and shattered his shoulder. And because my uncle fell, my grandparents said that I wasn't allowed to climb the trees anymore either! I thought it was completely unfair.

There was an old tree in my front yard I used to get on all the time. I never climbed very high but sometimes I'd sit in ot or swing from the swing that was out there for the kids to swing off of. I'm to big and can no longer swing on the swing, but if I wanted to sit in the tree I probably could. Of course I don't know since I haven't been back.
