Have you ever gone on a diet - for whatever reason it maybe - and then how many days have you really sincerely stuck to it without cheating? and how many times you have had to start all over again on the same or some other diet??

I have started and stopped literally hundreds of diets. It is so hard to break a bad habit, eating the wrong foods. Unhealthy foods just taste soo darn good. This is the lentil season and I have just started another diet which I am having a hard time sticking too. The desire to change has to be greater than the desire to eat before any diet will work.

hi udayrao2 , I tried on diet before after i heard one of my friends had been on vegetarian for a couple of years.I thought the idea are great and sort of purifying the body system if one goes on a vegetarian diet.I did try for 3 days on the strict diet but it didn't last long because all i can think of are meat.In fact ,i goes hungry all the time(i am quite a big eater myself),it felt hungry even when i'm sleeping.Don't know if it's the body adjusting the new intake or just plain hungry. So,on the 4th day,i gave up on being a vegetarian.i guessed a balance on food intake will be my choice for now. That is ,a bit of vege,meat,fruits,etc...Now ,i do practice to just take more vegetables from time to time.

I tried the General Motors diet- it is for a period of a week and it allows you to increase your intake day by day - and the best part is I lost more wt following this diet than any other and then you can do this diet in short periods rather than continuously - it is available on the internet & for veg & non-veg too!!!

Hi udayrao, Yes, early last month I started on a fruit diet, coupled with with tea and have included low fat and low-carb foods. I was on it for about 3 weeks. Then I felt miserable, I wanted to dine out but I knew if I go I'd feel bad coz I won't be able to eat rich foods, which are the ones I really love to eat. So, eventually I gave up dieting. Now I'm planning to do some physical activities, I hope I'll be able to stick with it.

You have a great patience to stick to it for 3 weeks- most give up after a week.

Well, I have been tried to be in a strict diet. It did not count days only but months of determination to reduce weight and avoid eating too much fatty foods. I always start my diet whenever I needed for myself to minimize any possible illness and increase my confidence and self Esteem. When a person is in full determination for taking a diet in a reason of better outcome. The countless days or months of patience will be considered. Self control in avoiding the temptations will be a great help. After long time of patience, the result will be good. Depending on your aim and perseverance to motivate and challenge yourself for a greater change in yourself.

I've started several over my lifetime. Most of which my parents insisted were good for me. But once school came around sticking them didn't always work. I think my parents were more concerned about my weight then I was. But, that's preaty much how I was. I'm doing my best to do something to eat redgurally and so far its working fairly well.

Changing our habits is difficult. I try to keep things balanced rather than "diet", by making sure I get some fruit and veggies everyday, a bit of protein and some healthy carbs. My weight is by no means ideal but this is easier for me to stick to than a strict diet with all kinds of rules. It may take me longer to lose the weight but perhaps it will stay off this time!

Almost everybody would have suffered this.Staring a diet for any reason(most commonly, obesity) but cannot continue for a single week.As for as i am concerned,i started to diet for my acidity problem and hardly two weeks I abide with it.By and by I started consuming foods that doesn't suit me and when the problem worsens,I start again. Now i am keen on following for a week.Let me see what will happen the next week.
