If you were sitting close enough to see someone put a dollar bill in the church offering pan and take out a five dollar bill, would you report them to the head of your church, or let God take care of them? Would you think that they were desparately in need or just a thief? What are your thoughts?

Oh my gosh, who ever did that is a sinner. How could anyone steal from a church donation. I would like to laugh but that is not good deed.

..Hi anjohanna, This is only a hypothetical situation remember, but also know in real life people burn down churches, many churches. So people do evil things. If I did see this and was sure they took money from the plate, I would not tell, it is their problem, maybe they really need money, and are in a bad situation. Whatever the problem, I would pray for the person and let the Lord, who made them, take care of them. Thanks for your response. Take it easy.

I probably wouldn't say a word. Actually I would probably assume they were making change instead of assuming they were stealing. I don't tend to think the worst of people right off the bat. If I knew they were actually stealing,I'd probably say a prayer for them and leave them to their conscience. I might try to see if they really needed help. There would be only two kinds of people I could see stealing from an offering plate..some one as cold as a sociopath and someone that was very desperate.

...Hi jewels49, I think that I would do the same thing. It's great to see the best in people, but if you see the dollar go in and five come out, then it is what it is, you are not assuming, if on the other hand you are not sure, as I said before, and you think it may have been a ten that went in and the five was change, then so be it. I would as you, leave them with their conscience, what good would it do me to tell the head of the church? Take care. Thanks for your input.

...Hi jamie012590, Welcome to the ranch, enjoy yourself, it's a nice place to hang out. "o) I don't think that I would tell anyone either. If someone were that down and out, I would leave them to their devices. I also think that in a lot of cases, what goes around comes around. That if you take something from someone, you may lose double what you took. You would think so, but people burn down churches and are not afraid of the wrath of God, so taking money, if the person is so driven is not beyond their reach. But this is a hypothetical question. Take care.

i think i'll let God take care of the punishment. Just make sure you stay away from that person because a lightening bolt might strike any moment. _

...Hi hanxyoung, Welcome to the ranch, enjoy yourself. I think that I would do the same thing, it would not help me in getting closer to the Lord to tell on someone. The person could have mistaken a one dollar bill for what really was a ten dollar bill, so be it. You gave me my great big laugh out loud moment for the day, with the lightening bolt. Thanks very much.
