Difficulty of getting hired really depends on the demands of the market. When demands have collapsed they will only go for the best of the best if they even need new workers. You know this right? You need to profile yourself as being a hard worker, a skilled person, a motivated person. Browse on the internet for some tips and experiences from other people. I am now working for an internet company and the funny thing is that I didn't really had to participate in some screening conversation of some sort. I was lucky.

Getting a good job is a very important part of any person's life today. Well, from your question, I understand you are a worried lad who will be graduating very soon. No son. Getting a good job as a fresher is not as hard it was a few years back. If you've got talent, with a good communication skill(this really matters and is independent of whichever field you are in) you'll find better jobs than most of the experienced people around you. But the job ain't going to be a walk in the park. As for the tips, a good grade point average will help you reach the top merit list in any selection camp and will ensure you a good job, but what's the use of it without knowing how to convey your ideas? I would ask you to improve your talking skills, your charisma, practice in front of the mirror as group discussions are a very important part of any job now and as important is the communication with the client. Work hard on your soft skills if you have got a good grade and you will be fetching yourself a very good job with a very good remuneration indeed(that's what most of us want, right?).
