Okay, so an online friend just msg'd me and told me she took 6000mg of paracetamol. I have tried getting her to call 911 as I think this could be causing her liver damage or even death. Im having a hard time getting through, shes saying she will be fine and that she doesnt want to call cause she would be branded insane. If i lived in the same country i would call for her but im not. I dont even know the area she lives in. Now does anyone have any suggestions for what i could do or if she will be fine? She's saying shes got a stomache ache and a headache now. I cant just sit around here unless i know shes fine...

OMG! Did she took it intentionally or by accident? ANyways, I think you should call 911. But then, you don't know where she is. Why not ask her where she is, convince her again to give you her address or just let her call 911 if it is available in her area or let her call the hospital or go directly in the hospital. She is manifesting overdose signs and symptoms. You could try harder convincing her to do these things to aid her. Other than that, ask her now to drink plenty of water so that she will be able to eliminate it through urine.

She took it intentionally, ive been trying to talk her into calling while ive been looking for her adress. But she plays it off like it doesnt matter. She also said that she took 20mg Povidon which i have no idea what is. She agreed to drink water but i dont think ill be able to get her to call.

Oh come on are you serious? Do you mean Povidone? If it is povidone then it isn't meant to be taken orally unless it is a gargle type. Povidone iodine is a topical medication and it is only intended for the skin treatment as an anti-septic. If you don't mean Povidone iodine then I'm not familiar with that Povidon med.

Ohhh God 6000mg impossible mostly the tablet is 200 to 500mg. But yes if illness is danger then the Dr. can suggest high power medicine. But 600 is sufficient 6000 is danger.

what country? get her address. Then go online and just look up her areas local emergency number and you would either do a long distance call or you could send an email. If that fails going to have to try talking to the embassy people about it.

I hope by now you will have found out how your friend is, she's lucky to have such a caring friend, but I strongly suspect that this was an attempt to get attention from you, had she not wanted to cause a fuss, she wouldn't have told you what she'd done, she told you because she knew you didn't know where she was so she wouldn't have had the embarrassment of having an ambulance rolling up at her home. This is of course just a guess on my part, it's just that I've heard virtually word for word, the same statements so many times. I seriously hope she didnt do anything so stupid, had she done so she would most definitely have been in a lot of trouble, over doses of pain kilers are very painful and far from the common myth that you just go to sleep it is an extremely painful way to choose to die, the damage done to the liver if the dose taken is high, is permanent and more often than not, fatal. I stick to my hope that she was attention seeking and will be fine, probably telling you someone saved her in time, or vanishing for a few days only to reappear online later. If this is what she's done, it's a mean thing to do to someone who was obviously genuinely concerned for her safety.
