I have been reading that Facebook is going to start charging a monthly fee. When I mentioned this to someone they said it was just a rumor that has been going around for some time. If Facebook does start charging a monthly fee will you pay it or will you go to another social site? There are some social sites that will even pay you to be a member. MyLot is just one of them. Have you heard anything about Facebook charging a monthly fee?

I have heard this rumour. That's all that it is. From time to time people like to get member's excited. If they did there would be such an exodus to Myspace or others that FB would rapidly climb down. Perhaps I'll start a discussion saying that this site is going to charge us $1 a month to belong. Wonder how many responses I'd receive! LOL.

i have seen a few discussions about this but never from facebook itself. i guess this is really just a rumor. i guess, if it will turn out to be true, i will stop using facebook. i will not pay for using a site that will give me nothing in return. i will just stay with mylot, free of charge and the earning bonus is there.

i also heard it before though i guess if they will continue to implement it im sure they will lost lot of members. the reason why theres a lot of members there due to its for free. i remember that friendster is more well known before than facebook and they only become so well known when they started to add those games as part of their feature.

I'm sure this is a rumor, some social sites pay us to be a member, i don't think that the great king Facebook will do the contrary!

Hi, sushie93. I hope that the great king Facebook is not planning on doing this either... It is so many surprises on the Internet that are new to us all. They have so many members that are using this website. I wonder what they will do if they have to pay??

Gotta be a rumor. Facebook would lose a lot of people if it started charging. Rumors like this are everywhere.

If they charge a monthly fee I will not pay for it. I will rather use a different social network site then pay a monthly fee.

If Facebook will start charging fees, then I will stop using the Facebook.. . .There are other social networking sites anyway. I hope this rumor will not come true or else Facebook will lose lots of its users. I will be one of those who will say goodbye to Facebook.

Hi, Kowgirl! I have not heard about that at all! If they do decide to charge a fee, I will not be at this site anymore. I just started finding family and friends on facebook and I could not imagine myself paying for a service that I can get for free. I will just join a social networking site that will pay me instead of me paying them. I wonder why they are deciding to start charging their members anyway??

I know about this, I have heard in the past few months about the same thing. I guess they are going to charge some monthly fee or annually fees for its members by the mid of 2010 or at the end of the year. I think they are doing this because they are also suffering from fake accounts and also because many people are badly addicted to it. They know that they get most traffic among different popular sites so they want their desperate users to pay them for their Internet Networking Addiction.

I haven't heard this, myself, but I hope it isn't true. I sure have enjoyed that site. I will probably just go to another site because I can't afford any more bills. A lot of my friends from church are on facebook and I'm sure some of them might go to another site if they start charging. I wonder what started this rumor? Kathy.

Hello kowgirl I think that is just a rumour, i dont think it would happen and if it does, then facebook will probably lose most of their members. Maybe what they are planning is to have a golden account and a free account, at least that sounds reasonable to me.

That's all this is, a rumor. Facebook would be absolutely insane to start charging any sort of fees; they'd lose the vast majority of their user base. I wouldn't worry about it at all until and if the higher-ups at Facebook send out an official message.

Facebook, as popular as it is has never made money and this rumor has been out there for a long time now. The owner/creator swears they will figure out a way to pay for all the bandwidth. They will finally figure out a way to monotize it but I think they would loose to many people if they started charging.
