Problems with games

Recently I downloaded a game from a website called direct2drive UK, first of all is it a scam or is it legitimate? The game I downloaded was called Rome- Total War gold edition, the problem with it is that it crashes when I try to go onto it it crashes and refuses to work. Any ideas why? Please give me any answers you have.

check on the system requirements of the game..your pc might not have the minimum requirements.
