From the creators of the success mangá Death Note, Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. Simply, a fiction mangá about making mangá itself. Mashiro and Takagi run for their dreams of make a mangá of success in the Shonen Jump. Takagi is the writer and Mashiro draws. When They succeed in turning a mangá into an anime, Mashiro will marry the woman he loves: Azuki. That was their promise. This mangá has highs and lows. I found the characters very interesting, and the ideas for imaginary mangás are great, making you want them to exist in reality. The Bakuman anime is also confirmed.

I think Bakuman is pretty interesting but there's a little too much romance for my liking. The promise thingy is really cliche and Takagi's girlfriend is quite irritating at times. However, I do like the interaction between Mashiro and Takagi. They make a really great team!

I've read this manga and gave up halfway. It was a good idea, and anyone interested in becominga mangaka would pick it up and never drop it, but the characters are too close to reality with no uotstanding abilities or eye catching traits or features, with the exception of Takagi. There is little interaction between the characters as well. anyway, the start of the manga was interesting and is worth reading for anyone who is intresrted in knowing the life ofs a mangaka in japan and how shonen jump works
